Safety

Safety comes first with Segway Nijmegen:

• You will always be guided by an experienced, well-trained guide.
• You can ride 20 km per hour with a Segway. The Segways of Segway Nijmegen have been limited and won’t exceed 20 km per hour.
• The Segways are well-maintained.

Instructions for participants:

• You must at least be 16 years old to ride a Segway
• You must wear a helmet (supplied by Segway Nijmegen)
• Make sure you wear good shoes. No heels or flip-flops.

Minimum age
To ride on a Segway you have to be at least 16 years old. On the road you are expected to follow the same rules as someone who is riding a bicycle.

Place on the road
With a Segway you are allowed to drive on the cycling road. If there is no cycling road, you are allowed to use the Segway on the roadway.

Maximum speed
Maximum speed is 25 km/hour. Segways can reach a speed of maximum 20 km/hour.

Insurance
A Segway must be insured in accordance with the Motor Insurance Liability Act.

All Segways of Segway Nijmegen are insured (third-part insurance).

Lighting
In the dark, at dusk and by day in case of poor visibility both headlight and taillight must be on.

Your Segway must have reflectors as well. All Segways of Segway Rotterdam have proper lighting.

Driving license
A driving license is not required.

Helmet
Everyone must wear a helmet when riding a Segway of Segway Rotterdam.
